Eric Bauza, the Canadian-born actor known for voicing “Looney Tunes” favorites Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died suddenly at age 46, his family announced.

Bauza died Sunday at a home in Los Angeles County, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. His cause of death was listed as hypertensive cardiovascular disease, and his manner of death was natural. Officials also noted that he had sleep apnea and Class II obesity.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page Sunday, Bauza’s family said he “passed away suddenly” and that “more details to come.”

His longtime manager, Judy Coppage, told NBCLA that Bauza was a “unique and versatile voice actor” whose death came as a shock.

“His sudden passing is a shock to all of us, and he will be deeply missed. It’s a profound loss for his family, the animation industry and his fans,” Coppage said.

Coppage also reflected on representing the Scarborough, Toronto-born performer, saying it was rewarding to watch him become “one of the most accomplished voices in animation.”

“As his longtime manager, the pleasure of watching him succeed and excel to become one of the most accomplished voices in animation was rewarding and thrilling,” she said.
