Ryan Kwanten has new management representation. The veteran actor and producer has signed with Rain for management, bringing his career to the company.
Kwanten began acting at a young age, with his first credits arriving in the early 1990s. He built a steady résumé before landing an early breakout role on the Australian soap opera Home and Away. He later moved on to Summerland, and then found perhaps his best-known part: Jason Stackhouse on HBO’s True Blood. Kwanten played the role across all seven seasons of the hit series, which aired 81 episodes from 2008 to 2014.
His credits since then have spanned film and television and a range of genres. He appeared opposite J.K. Simmons in Glorious, which he also executive produced, as well as Nicolas Cage in Kill Chain and Anthony Hopkins in Kidnapping Mr. Heineken. He also lent his voice to Zack Snyder’s animated film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, alongside Helen Mirren, Abbie Cornish, Joel Edgerton, Sam Neill, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess and Geoffrey Rush.
More recently, Kwanten starred in and produced The Oath with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. His other recent projects include Them, Kindred, Head Count, The Portrait, Primitive War and the recently completed Seven Snipers, which also stars Tim Roth, Ioan Gruffudd and Radha Mitchell. He will next be seen in the post-apocalyptic werewolf thriller Dead Howling.
