Chet Hanks Confronts Eric André at ComplexCon as Years-Old Feud Explodes: Security Steps In

Chet Hanks reignited his years-old feud with Eric André over the weekend, confronting the comedian at ComplexCon in Los Angeles.

In video of the incident, Tom Hanks’ 36-year-old son, a star of “Running Point,” was seen walking up behind André and tapping him on the shoulder. The “Eric André Show” host initially appeared happy to see him, offering a handshake and asking, “What’s up?” Chet, however, did not take his hand. He kept his hand on André’s shoulder while speaking, prompting André to ask, “What’d I say?”

The situation quickly turned heated. Both men removed their glasses and began shouting at each other before André’s security team stepped in and escorted him away.

Chet later described the encounter in an Instagram comment. “Finally ran into @ericf–kingandre,” he wrote, also mocking André for traveling with four security guards “because the environment makes him uneasy.”

Chet then referenced his 2023 appearance on André’s show, which he said began their feud. He claimed André had “NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his show!!”

He continued, saying that after being “sheltered by his security team,” André “began foaming at the mouth” and admitted he had a problem with Chet “mocking Caribbean culture” when he did his Jamaican accent years earlier.

Chet closed his comment with a sarcastic final shot: “WHO KNEW that in addition to the brain rot and poop joke humor he is known for, Eric is also such a passionate cultural activist!!! Great running into you Eric!!!!!”
