ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA — Eight people, including two young children and a pregnant woman, were killed in a mass shooting at a family home in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Friday, October 9, 2026, according to police. The suspected gunman, a 45-year-old man related to several of the victims, also died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to reports by Reuters, The Associated Press and ABC News, police responded to the residence shortly before 5 p.m. following an alert about gunfire. Investigators said seven of the victims were related to the suspected shooter, while the eighth was a family friend.
